Our Programs

The Mastering the Ego and Remembering Who You Are curriculum, which I refer to as the Full Curriculum, is the main curriculum that extends over several months in its full form and is limited in number of people who can participate for each offering of it. The Full Curriculum is an approximately 12-20 total sessions, with the average being 17 or 18.

  • The variable in the number of sessions depends upon the participants and how they may need to continue with a lesson for more than a single session as well as if the session is abbreviated in any way for customization. This is all group dependent.
  • Each session includes a number of experiential exercises that allow the participants to better integrate the information and understand themselves and their own egoic conditioning, belief systems, triggers, conditioned behaviors.
  • Each session has a worksheet that accompanies the curriculum for that session.

The Processing Intense Emotions curriculum is a subset taken from the Full Curriculum but focuses more centrally on understanding and processing intense emotions. We focus on 4 different emotions in this series that include: anger, fear, shame and sadness.

  • These classes allow for each emotion session to be a stand-alone session.
  • These classes each begin with a discussion on emotions generally and then go into the specific emotion for that class.
  • Each class ends with guided exercises and a worksheet.
  • This experiential work helps the participants to understand how they express and experience their emotions, why and part of what underlies their expression of that emotion.
  • We review in detail the balanced and imbalanced expressions of the emotion in both the aggressive and submissive.

Issues addressed

  • Unworthiness, unlovable, abandoned and victim belief systems that are usually developed as a result of childhood experiences. The curriculum helps people see that who they truly are is not what their egoic mind interpreted from of their experiences. The curriculum helps them see that the interpretations and conclusions (the “stories”) they made about themselves from their experiences were untrue. The curriculum helps them see the larger scenes of how those (false) stories affected their belief systems, their coping mechanisms, their go-to reactive behaviors and the lenses through which they see and characterize themselves, others, their life circumstances and experiences. The curriculum helps them look through their higher-self lenses instead to see themselves and others differently and therefore respond differently to others and their life experiences and circumstances. The experiential exercises help participants get out of the egoic mind and its characterizations to see and experience more clearly without the colorizations the ego makes.
  • Shadow, knee-jerk trigger reactions. The curriculum helps participants see and understand their shadow triggers and reactions. This includes seeing how they are a reflection of their stories and beliefs about themselves that (some of which may have been suppressed), and which manifest as sudden knee-jerk aggressive or submissive behaviors. Through this awareness, the work helps participants break the associations with traumatic experiences and begin to change their neural pathways. This helps participants begin to see their experiences more clearly in the present and not through the colored lenses of their egoic stories of the past, which drives more productive thoughts, emotions, and responses. Therefore, they experience less suffering.
  • Addressing and healing the negative thoughts about self and others.  The curriculum helps participants see and understand the source of their negative judgments of themselves and others and helps them see more clearly truths of what was done and said instead of the characterization of those facts. Through this clearer sight of facts instead of characterizations, they learn and experience more compassion for themselves and others through seeing themselves and others acting from their wounds instead of their flaws. This also helps participants stop interpreting, characterizing and taking personally behaviors from others. This helps participants see that their own and others’ behaviors are reflections of their relationship with themselves even if another’s behavior is unkind. This helps participants take responsibility for their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and stop taking on responsibility or meaning of behavior of others.
  • Understanding and becoming more aware of the suffering nature of the ruminating egoic mind. The curriculum helps participants understand the connection between their thoughts and emotions. It helps participants see their thoughts instead of being intermixed and identified with them feeling as a victim of them and suffering from them. This includes helping participants see and understand from where those ruminating thought patterns are coming, how to de-identify with them (without dissociation), lower the power of these thoughts, and giving them skills to manage better their thoughts that get stuck on repeat and cause them suffering.
  • Familiarizing the participants more intimately with their higher self (conscience, spiritual self, soul, interfaith/transliteral approach with no belief system required – all belief systems accommodated). With a transliteral approach to discussing the higher self, making all philosophies and belief systems welcome and relevant, the curriculum helps the participants get deeply familiar with their higher-self state and lens. Through this work, the curriculum helps participants distinguish between the higher-self and the egoic consciousness state. When participants begin seeing and experiencing life circumstances through their higher-self consciousness state and lens versus the wounded and fearful egoic consciousness state and lens, they start both seeing and experiencing alternatives to how they have seen and experienced their life in the past that caused them suffering. Included is helping the participants identify which lens and consciousness state they are in and how to shift back into the higher self.
  • Understanding emotions generally and what they are and what they are attached to, including specific deeper review of anger, fear, shame, and sadness. There is extensive discussion and guided exercises on identifying the thoughts that bring in our emotional energies. This work empowers the participants in owning their emotions, giving them greater understanding, empowerment, and control of their emotions. The curriculum helps participants see that their emotions are not coming from what is happening outside themselves, but instead from what they think about what is happening outside of them. This is empowering them to change their lenses and therefor their thoughts and responses to situations. This is changing their relationship to their thoughts and emotions.
  • Tools and techniques for moving through the world with the higher self in the driver seat more often, making different choices, and having better relationships.  The curriculum helps participants bring these teachings into their relationships with others with tools and techniques to help them stay on track and recognize where they are consciousness state and lens and how to continue to align to their higher self instead of their wounded egoic state. This curriculum has been shown to change significantly the level of conflict participants perceive and experience in their lives.

Each Sunday, we hold a 2-3 hour session on processing emotions. These sessions focus on the following:

  • understanding emotions generally, what they are, what they’re attached to and why they come into us
  • how to process them with balance and constructive use
  • why they get imbalanced, intense, overwhelming and out of control
  • specific techniques to use to understand what is happening with our particular way of having and experiencing our emotions and help us to have more power over them instead of them having power over us
  • specific techniques to help us heal from the suffering of the stories and experiences involving our emotions.

Each Sunday of the month we will also address with greater detail a specific emotion based on the following schedule:

  • 1st Sunday of the month: anger
  • 2nd Sunday of the month: fear
  • 3rd Sunday of the month: shame
  • 4th Sunday of the month: sadness

These emotions classes can be taken individually without any obligation for more than 1 session. Many people take the full series and many take the full series more than once. Pick and choose, come to some over and over or participate in this however makes sense for you.

The following are a sampling of the testimonials and comments from people who have been in either the Processing intense emotions series or the Full Curriculum or both.

  • “I learned things I have never received from years of seeing psychologists and spiritual teachers.”
  • “This course allowed me to clearly see the root cause of my fear, anxiety, shame, guilt, and anger. I am astounded at how easy these are to shift and change using [the course’s] tools.”
  • “…it really helped me work through some blocks I’ve been struggling with for years.”
  • I hope you never get tired of hearing it, but THANK YOU, so very much for your help. You have truly helped and given me tools to be a better me and to really feel like I’m on a path to the happy life I want and deserve. Bless you, my friend.
  • What you are teaching is true emotional alchemy….it changes everything.
  • Thank you, I have dealt with a lot of trauma so this is very helpful.
  • These exercises have been really helpful and revealing!!! thank you.
  • I realized that a family member is scared about my past behaviors during my addiction, and it shows up as anger on their part.  And my ego gets in the way because I become very defensive.  But by looking at the situation with more compassion, I actually feel lucky that my family cares that much.  The feeling of anger on my part has dissipated.  THANK YOU.
  • I get so much more out of this meeting with you, Dawn, than I do in AA because you get to the root of the underlying issues of why I run to the bottle.  And how better to deal with all the known emotions of anger, sadness,  hurt, that seem to get relieved from an outside source (drinking) than dealing with the emotions in a balanced way.  You really are an awesome lady.  Thank you for your heartfelt contributions to help others.
  • I overall had a really wonderful experience participating in the course. I never joined something like a support group before and so it was very refreshing to hear from others who were willing to be open about their struggles and were open to making improvements in their life. It was also so nice to be able to join a group on a routine basis when there was so much isolation going on everywhere. I feel like it came at just the right time in my life because I was dealing with a significant amount of suicidal ideation last year, more than I’ve ever experienced in my life before. Although I don’t think that I could ever go through with such an act, it didn’t change the pain of having thoughts like that on a daily basis for at least 5 months straight- feeling so worthless…. [This course] gave me new tools in my inner toolbox to change my thinking and patterns over the long term. Therefore, I am so grateful for your curriculum [that] gave me new tools and ways of thinking. It really taught me how to recognize my ego and the strong hold it had on me, which I never would have thought because I considered myself to be such a humble person. Now I understand the ego and shadow better and the ways it can trap and limit you. It was very freeing to understand that so much of what I was thinking and believing about myself was not true and were assumptions, and even how so many untrue assumptions were being made about interactions with others. I think that helped me be able to let go of some of the things that were weighing me down related to the thoughts that were causing the suicidal ideation. Just some of those basic ideas have really helped me soo much to not have such black and white thinking about myself and life and is still helping me today.
  • This class has been life changing for me. I’ve been buying books and trying all sorts of methods to learn emotional processing and regulation skills for 20 years, but nothing worked for me. Dawn’s approach works for me! I am feeling more empowered and confident in myself every week since I’ve been studying and applying Dawn’s curriculum. I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experiences! Her curriculum is a complete overhaul, an inner self “makeover!”
  • My vision towards others and myself has definitely changed my life. I have incorporated the technique of acting through my heart and what happens, happens. I am more relaxed, “free” and will use the tools offered during this class for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, I am deeply grateful for having you come into my life when I needed it the most. Thank you.
  • Dawn, to have come across these event sessions I did not know know what to expect, the delivery and with your broad knowledge, pragmatic understanding I have felt held to be able to fully participate – without barriers – as such – they would have been broken down anyway I now know. I have enjoyed them and it has been challenging – a good thing and am in a place willing inside and prepared psychologically, emotionally to go forth with the full course.
  • Dawns depth of experience and wisdom was so evident in the way she skillfully turned complex topics into relatable everyday language and used examples from her own life to help understanding. I enjoyed her humour, compassion and every moment was used to pack in as much “treasure” as possible. The exercises were used to get maximum results for participants – I made real progress in a relatively short period of time. I am thankful to Dawn for her generosity of time and spirit and I can’t wait to take part in the full program
  • Loved the introspection of exercises and Dawn’s guided journeys were excellent! 🙂
  • I am so excited about the curriculum of Mastering my Ego! The way Dawn explains every detail of how my ego and shadow works helped me understand concepts that I’ve tried to learn and couldn’t get. I love the way she fully engaged herself into the lessons and theories. …. I’ve become a better person due to the experience of the curriculum Dawn created and am eternally grateful for the awakening she has helped me find in myself!!! I have listened to the course over and over because of Dawn’s generosity of recording and freely giving us a way to continue to learn on our own. Thank you so very very much Dawn and I can’t wait to read your book!!! You have my permission to let my identity known.
